How to Create a Chain Reaction of Good HabitsInsights from James Clear
Modifying certain behaviors can set off a chain reaction that can also influence other related behaviors.
For this, there are three key rules to make the Domino Effect work:
- Begin with a task that motivates you the most. Start by doing this tiny behavior and stay consistent with it.
- Once the task is complete, keep the momentum going by shifting focus to the next one.
- Whenever a task is overwhelming, break it down into smaller pieces. This will help you stay motivated while creating new habits and ensuring they are manageable.
Why does this work?
Two reasons:
- Our daily lives are filled with interconnected habits and routines that form a larger pattern.
- The Domino Effect is based on one of the fundamentals of human behavior - commitment and consistency.
Sounds interesting, right?
Using the Domino Effect can be a great method to create good habits in your team.
Are you an enlightened leader?Insights from Mark MacLeod
Turning a vision into reality is a journey that only a few CEOs/founders have accomplished. Mark points out that this is due to the wake of CEOs/founders not focusing on essential tasks and instead coaching their teams as a consequence of an imbalance of dependency on the CEOs/founders for input or making all key decisions.
To combat this, CEOs/founders need to take a different approach where their leadership is less omnipresent. Less visible. Shaping. Mentoring. Leading by example. Which, in practical terms, translates to speaking last in meetings and empowering your team to make their own decisions. And by contrast, it will also give you more freedom to do things only CEOs/founders can do.
The country that has the highest number of unicornsInsights from Justinas Baltrusaitis
Data acquired by Finbold indicates that the United States has the highest number of 🦄 unicorns at 704, while China is in second with 243 and India in third with 85.
Why the US?
The United States dominates in the international economic arena primarily due to its generous funding opportunities, cutting-edge innovation, and a well-regulated business environment. This means entrepreneurs have the freedom to experiment with different projects without worrying too much about resources or government interference.
Furthermore, the most successful unicorns in the US are primarily from sectors like fintech, cryptocurrency & video games. All these companies have recently experienced a surge in popularity due to increased digitization during the pandemic.
Still, most unicorns have to rely on external funding to develop a successful business model. This has forced most startups to slow hiring, layoff staff, and cut down on investments.
There are a few things you can do to navigate through these times, like:
- Outsourcing work
- Research how to optimize your company workflows
- Create sustainable and realistic goals
