Migrating the knowledge base for a startup giant

Design

We first conducted an audit of their slab workspace to gain a comprehensive understanding of the amount of content Discord needed to migrate to Notion. Then, we classified the content in a Google Sheet and assigned content owners to commence the review process. Simultaneously, looked at the import possibilities and limitations between Notion and Slabs.

We also began using Miro to design the structure and layout of their new workspace in Notion.

❷ Implementation

The result was a new Notion workspace with the migrated content from Slab, which improved Discord’s digital information architecture.

❸ Documentation

In addition to creating Discord's new Notion workspace and transferring their content from Slab, we also invested our efforts in developing a comprehensive Notion resource hub so their employees could, at their own pace, learn about Notion and how their new custom workspace was built.
