Bi-weekly insights on maximizing productivity and empowering teams with Notion.
Hi, and welcome to this week’s newsletter.
In this issue, we’re excited to explore Notion’s latest AI innovation: Q&A. This new feature (now in beta) is shaping up to redefine the way we extract value from our collective knowledge in Notion. So, without further ado, let’s dive in!
One of the standout features of Notion’s Q&A is its ability to hunt down answers from thousands of pages in your workspace within a matter of seconds while still respecting privacy settings and only accessing pages the user has been granted. No more wasting time manually searching through pages and databases. Q&A does the heavy lifting for you, gathering information from your workspace’s databases to provide comprehensive and accurate answers.
So how does it work?
Whether you’re on the web, desktop, or mobile, accessing Q&A is a breeze. Simply open the search window by clicking Search
in your left-hand sidebar or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl/cmd + K, then click the Ask Notion AI
button at the top of the search window.
What Q&A excels at:
Hunting down answers from thousands of pages in mere seconds.
Gathering information from your workspace’s databases.
Respecting privacy settings and only referencing pages that you have access to. No one using it will be able to access someone else’s private pages or any pages that they don’t have permission to view.
Where Q&A is limiting:
It doesn’t stretch its capabilities over large quantities of pages.
It won’t fetch information from embeds.
Currently, Q&A doesn’t directly indicate where it pulls its answers from within your workspace.
Use cases for Q&A:
Project Overviews: Ask for a summary of the current status of a particular project when you need a quick refresher on where things stand.
Resource Allocation: Quickly ask for the current allocation of resources on a project to optimize team workload and project planning.
Sprint Retrospectives: Ask for summaries of past sprint retrospectives to identify patterns in team feedback and improve future sprints.
Strategic Plan Progress: Inquire about the progress on strategic plans or long-term goals to align your current work with overarching company objectives.
Employee Achievement Highlights: Pull up recent achievements or milestones of team members for recognition in team meetings or company newsletters.
Knowledge Sharing: When a team member asks a question in a shared space, use Q&A to provide them with information from your workspace that they might not have immediate access to, fostering collaborative learning and information sharing.
Our team at Optemization is excited to explore this new feature further and discover its full potential.
